ChangeOtter

How ChangeOtter works

ChangeOtter is change intelligence for MSPs and IT admins. Vendors ship updates constantly—security patches, licensing shifts, retirements, admin-default flips—and most of it is buried in portals, RSS feeds, and Tuesday blog posts. We read the official sources and surface what actually affects the stacks you run for clients.

It’s for owners, service managers, and tech leads who need a trustworthy morning brief: what changed, how severe it looks, and which practice area it touches. We don’t replace your RMM, PSA, or security tools. We reduce the time spent hunting for vendor noise so your team can decide what to patch, communicate, or schedule.

Free starts with the web digest. Pro adds morning email digests and emergency alerts when you want inbox delivery.

  1. Daily pull

Scheduled jobs collect public and partner-facing change sources: Microsoft Message Center, AWS What's New, Azure Updates, vendor advisory RSS, and release notes.

  2. Normalize & score

Each item is tagged with vendor vertical, severity, category, and source. Emergency signals (active exploitation, widespread outages, critical CVEs) are elevated immediately.

  3. Publish the digest

ChangeOtter normalizes items into digest cards by vertical and filters for MSP-relevant impact. A status banner keeps AWS, Azure, and peer outages in view; subscribe to skim the daily brief.

Sources of truth

Primary ingest uses HTTP-verified official feeds only. Discovery [verify] URLs stay out of the wired pipeline. See the Sources page and docs/verified-sources.md.

Seed cards remain illustrative; live vendor ingest and cloud status probes are enabled for verified sources. Microsoft 365 Graph health is available when credentials are connected.
